Pictured is the 200-VRT-1011 knife mounted on a shank with a seed boot.

The 1 inch (25 mm) vertical knives are our longest wearing openers. The high chrome cast tip has a double carbide insert that protects the bottom 2 inches (50 mm) of the tip.

Because of the near vertical approach this opener will pull harder than conventional knives however, it will also throw less soil and pull out fewer rocks. This knife has had some design modifications to help alleviate funnel plugging in wet conditions.

Round tube seed boots will not work with this knife. The funnel on this knife fits around 300-SQR-1500, or the Bourgault and Flexi-Coil square tube seed boot.

Note: When using this knife with a Flexi-Coil square tube seed boot, the back of the funnel should be bent forward until it contacts the seed boot. This closes the gap between the seed boot and the funnel preventing dirt lumps and trash from falling inside the funnel and bridging at the bottom.

Driver 200-DRV-1030 should be used to protect the tip when installing this knife on the adapter.
